The Smiling Girl

I’m a Brazilian girl who left behind a beloved family, lovely friends and an amazing job to live a dream with my best friend, known as my husband (hehe), and our dog, a schnauzer called Fred. Yes, we brought our dog from Brazil to Ireland. We could not be living here without him.

Since I met my husband he had a dream to work abroad and I had a dream about to visit Europe. So, in 2017 we started to plan this crazy idea about coming to Europe. We started from “let’s try three months and see how things go on”. So, at the end of 2018, he came to Dublin and after one and a half month he got a job in his area. After a while, I came too.

As soon as I got in Dublin in 2019, I started to attend English classes, after that, I went to a pre-employment course and IT training. I learnt a lot, knew people from all around the world and also made many friends. We went to a community called Dublin Vineyard where we are integrated now, me as a bassist and my husband as a keyboardist. Yeah, I know, a girl playing bass is not rare but it’s also not so common. I’ve been playing bass since I was fifteen and before I used to play classic guitar… since I was seven. I love music and everything that (good) music brings along.
